I am assuming that you have made this "hit" because you want to know either more about Jesus or more about our fellowship and I trust these web pages will help to meet that interest. Being involved with the church has ceased to be of any importance or relevance to the vast majority of people in this country. By and large the established churches have managed to get themselves a negative image with society. Of those people who are disposed to have a faith in God, many claim that they can worship Him at home and don't need to go to church. Hence, church as we traditionally know it shows all the signs of being in terminal decline in our land. However, Christ WILL build His Church and we endeavour to co-operate with His Spirit in this work. Much of what passes for Christianity today is merely the traditions of the elders, where congregations have become audiences rather than participators, where the ministry is in the hands of a select few or a paid professional who is expected to do all the spiritual work. The pattern of the New Testament church was far more flexible and dynamic and all the people were expected to play a part and to minister in some way among the body of believers and to those outside of the church. At Eggbuckland Community Church we are seeking to find again the expression of church life that will be challenging and attractive to today's generations. If you are someone who is seeking God and would like to see what is going on, please come and you are assured of a friendly welcome. We believe that we have yet much work to do to discover the power of authentic Christianity. If ground is to be recovered there can be no quick fixes. Spiritual reality can only come when Christ's people seek Him with all their hearts and the barriers to obedience have been surrendered or broken down so that God's Holy Spirit is not grieved or bound among us as we live in this world and seek to witness and worship as His children.
